I recently had to service the recoil for a $20 Honda find. The spring was so gummed up with a mix of dirt, (ill-advised) oil, and corrosion that I had to clean it with a degreaser and a scotchbrite pad, then hit it with some sandpaper before reinstalling it and replacing the rope...works great now and didnt cost a dime. BTW, the problem I thought you were going to mention is the easy-to-bumble gasket order...my mower's previous owner totally screwed that up before walking away from the fix and listing it for sale.

I have one these and outbof the blue, it wont start. Normally, it will start with 1 to 2 pulls reliably. Mine has always been a little peculiar. It has to warm up before I can use the throttle and it refuses to warm up during cool whether.

That's happened to mine twice now

Try penetrating oil instead of brake cleaner

Those are easy to take apart and clean . I would say the idle jet plugging and making them surge is the biggest problem and the second is when the home owner tries to fix it by monkeying around with the governor linkage and gets all of the carb gaskets wrong trying to fix it!

Replacing the carb is the thing to do

Dont use brake cleaner. Its eats the plastic and the rope. Use a silicone based lubricant. You can pick up a can at dollar general for a couple bucks, or hit up Tractor Supply for some better stuff.

What don't you like about how they are marketed?

I run everything dry before long term storage. Sometimes I’ll use aviation fuel for the last use during fall leaf cleanup, that stuff has a shelf life of years and can be left in over winter.

What kind of lawnmower was the other one they are probably rough on all their lawnmowers

Hello I have a Honda Mower HRR216. The self propelled doesn’t work, I adjusted the cable but nothing.

What type of liquid is in your diaphragm rejuvenation bath ? And where I live I leave fuel in every machine I own as mowing/gardening is done all year.

I have the same issue but I seen the piston head is all scratched up and only runs for five minutes at a time is this a dead weed Wacker should I just buy a New one but electric like a Milwaukee one or Ryobi brand ? Why do these products won't last more than 4 years

That is exactly why I only work on my own equipment and also vehicles. Don't get me wrong, I will help out my friends, but always tell them I'm not responsible for any damages and I'm here to only help them out. Nobody else, not their other friends. And really, after that happened several times, when I get a call now about needing help, I just tell them to go to a mechanic. No more of that bs. Also it's good you stand up for your own man, never let anyone try and step on you

i have 2 craftsman trimmers that are exactly the same, and i have just put a cheap $15 aftermarket carb on both of them and they ran like gold, but just recently i bought a Husquvarna trimmer

I know that this is off topic from the video but I have a Toro recycler 22 inch from 2013 and it didn’t not start when I got it I replaced the air filter then I replaced the carburetor and replaced the spark plug. Even after I did all of this it started up but then died after about 3 seconds of running. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do?

I bought a new axle and wheels. Mine isn't self propelled though

well for me it does differ by looking at that brand of lawn edger i would most surely store mine with clean fuel if it was a 4 stroke engine and a fuel stabilizer in it and it should not have any problems from there on etc.

Hmm, anti-seze is plentiful. Looks like there may be some on the electrode. Wont run with that.

My string trimmer starts on full choke, but hen you turnoff choke it dies & won't start again without choke. Any ideas 2:29

We can not buy ethanol free fuel now in Ontario Canada. So I would recommending at the end of the season to run them dry, or drain fuel. That is what I do. Great video as always. Thank you

Regarding the question you asked at the end of the video, yes my dad usually keeps fuel in his machines all winter long. We don't typically have cold winters here, mild at most. My dad will occasionally run some of his machines during the winter to keep the fuel from sitting too long. Sometimes, my dad will use a fuel stabilizer in his zero turn lawn mower if he plans to not run it for a long period of time.

I have the exact model. Used it last year, put it up for the Winter, and never started again. After a long search for anyone to repair it, I looked answers to why, no repair shop won't touch this thing. Even Home Depot stopped selling them. I feel duped because I only used it 3 times! What brand of trimmer do you recommend, that is easily serviceable?

do valve covers need a specific torque setting to avoid leakage? Wouldn't a service include air filter, plug, and filter? Do you use an rpm sensor to check settings of idle and full throttle...or too much.....?

It sounded like the rpm's were a bit low at full speed.

Over the past 2 years I put my snowblower and mower away with no gas and new oil.. Mower 6+ months and Snowblower 4 months. I used the snowblower 1 time last season.

The inlet hose is so tiny that it is hard to find a filter with out a part number, can you help ?

I store my equipment with fuel treated with Stabil360 and it works well for me.

Hey bro what's up? I normaly store my equipment with fuel in it because I'm from the Caribbean and we don't have winter in the Caribbean. I usually choose to do it this way since I typically cut my lawn on a fairly regular basis especially during the rainy season since the grass grows a lot during this time.

I’m working on a lawn mower that belongs to my mother that’s not running properly. When I checked the oil, at first I thought it was good just by what it looked like at first glance however, something seemed a little off about it. On closer inspection it appeared to be a milky tan color and smelled as if it got gas in it. So being a novice to this kind of stuff I looked up what gas in oil looks like and I did find an image that looked almost exactly like it. So of course I drained it out, but before putting in fresh oil, is there a certain process that I should go thru to completely flush the tank and clean it out? Thank you.
